Welcome to the new UMD Basketblog! My name is John Cabral, and I will be handling play-by-play broadcasts of Corsair men's and women's basketball throughout the season.
This blog will serve as a place for me to do my homework before broadcasts, and as a centralized location for me to put recorded and written content. For now, I have no defined purpose or production schedule for this space. If you have any requests for things you would like to see appear here, let me know in the comments.
Tonight is opening night for the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs, while the Johnson and Wales Wildcats (The first step is always learning the opponent's mascot!) are coming off a 61-58 loss at the hands of Roger Williams at home in Providence on Sunday.

*Brandon Shelton, V.J. Divine, and Tom Henneberry are all in street clothes tonight for UMD. Shelton and Divine are recovering from knee surgeries, and Henneberry is sidelined with a sprained ankle.
*Tonight's broadcast will feature a pregame interview with UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Brian Baptiste, and a halftime interview with Corsair seniors Matt Walker and Jeff Macchi.
